My wife has a Topper 12 gauge, model 158, serial #AH227935 and I would like to know what year it was made. Can anyone help me? I disagree with what we are paying for it, but my wife wants it so you that are married will understand that. I have looked on line, I am going to re-blue the metal and refinish the stock and hand grip. A general price would be nice as well.

brojohn is correct, year of Mfg is 1971. Price for a 12 gauge in "vg cond": $100-$130 tops

According to the blue book, a 158 in 100% is only worth $155. If you're rebluing and refinishing I'm going to assume 70% at best which puts you down in the $65-$70 range. Guns like this haven't been subject to the recent price gouging either. Just FYI so hopefully you don't pay way too much for your project.

When you really think about it......if someone really wants something......You can spend $150 on a $75 gun and be okay- If everyone is happy about it.
But when the numbers go up too much...it can get out of hand.

Well, even if you over pay we still want pics.
I get great satisfaction from buying cheap or old and beat up guns and making them pretty again.
Its not about the money, but once in a while you can sell one for a few bucks more than you have in it or give them away as presents.
