    Model 85, .380

I just bought a Bersa Model 85, .380 with walnut grips. It will be shipped in a couple of days. I have heard that there are 13 round mags for it? Does anybody have any info for this gun?

Welcome to Bersa Chat. The Model 85 is no longer in production, having been replaced in the Bersa lineup first by the Thunder Super and currently by the Thunder 380 Plus.

Since it's no longer being produced, spare magazines are going to be hard to come by. However, I've seen reports that the current 15 round Plus magazine will work in the Model 85 if you're willing to make a modification. Specifically, you need to cut a magazine catch notch higher on the side of the magazine. Here's a comparison picture of the Model 85/86 magazine alongside a current production BT380 Plus mag.

On the other hand, you may be able to find Model 85/86 magazines if you're willing to search the internet and spend quite a bit of money. Whatever you find is not gonna be cheap. Good luck in your quest.

BTW, what's a Model 85 selling for nowadays?

    I'm no expert; I'm just, well...opinionated!

Hi JesusismyPapa and Welcome to Bersa Chat.. My father bought me a mod 85 almost 25 years ago. My first Bersa and 20 some years later it still shoots flawless.. Like p-t says the mags are a bugger to find and quite spendy when you find one. I dont have a plus to compair mags with but I don't see why his suggestion would not work converting a plus mag..

I've spent 90% of all my money on Booze, Bikes, Babes, Bersas and Bullets..

The rest of my money I wasted.
