    Bersa 85 issue

I saw a Bersa 85 at the gun show today and it was decently priced but I noticed that when you remove the magazine, the trigger goes limp and will move front to back very loosely with no resistance. Put the magazine back in and it's fine. Is this some sort of safety feature? If so, I may see if it's still there tomorrow. Thanks.

    Does it affect the shooting?

That is a safety. When the magazine is removed the trigger disconnect is activated rendering the trigger inoperable. (note: be aware that spare magazines for the models 85 and 86 are very hard to find although some have reported that the current Thunder 380 Plus 15 round mags will work with a latch slot modification.) regards jab

My dad got me my 85 as a gift back in the 1980s. I dont shoot it much any more but I loved it.. Its what started me down to path to owning a whole bunch of Bersa's today. I think it would be a great gun for you fireman.. I hope you get it.. Keep us posted please.. Best of luck.

After doing some more research, I've decided against this one. Found out the mags are extremely hard to find and if you do find one expect to pay near $75 for it. I'm sure it's a good gun but can't justify the mag price.

Hmm...that would seem cheap, this one on GunBroker just sold for $115 + (new old stock)

Nice vintage photo. Think that importer will stay around?
