I just got a notice from UPS web tools that the API's at onlinetools.ups.com are are switching the security certificate from Symantec to Comodo. I wonder if they dropped Symantec over their announcement to withdraw from the NRA discount program?

Don't know about there, but whoever bosses the UPS for this area is anti gun. They will not transport firearms in this area.

Maybe not, we can always hope. Could just be a local UPS manager that is the anti gun. A local gun store is the one that told me UPS wouldn't accept firearms & all the pistols I've ordered & those sent/received for warranty have been handled by Fedex.

Maybe UPS has decided to stop all firearm/ammo delivery? Seems odd, since they probably make a lot of $$$ via firearms and ammo.
TO BE UNARMED IS TO BE A VICTIM
I know that if you get a UPS shipper via internet, you do not have to state contents & could ask for ground shipment, but I'd be concerned about the shipment getting lost & having to file a claim. Seems I've read that ATF says you must tell them it is a firearm.
In this area, if you declare it, Fedex requires that an individual ship overnight, but an FFL can ship via ground. When Rock Island had Fedex pick up my RI for warranty, it shipped via Fedex ground, but bill showed them as both shipper & consignee. Sig emailed me a Fedex shipper & it was a 2nd day delivery bill, but I had to take it to the Fedex office in Longview, could not use Kinkos or any Fedex drop.
'Course, I guess the laws are so confusing, even the Fedex employees don't know. The manager at Kinkos told me even he couldn't ship via Fedex, but had to take his pistols to a FFL to get them shipped.

Could be due to the fact Symantec dropped their NRA discount.

Both UPS and FedEx policies indicate they will ship firearms, including pistols, from individuals (nonFFLs) to FFLs as well as between FFLs.
UPS requires firearms to be shipped Next Day Air, Adult Signature Required. UPS also requires firearms to be picked up by a driver or dropped off for shipment at a Customer Center (UPS Store cannot accept firearms).
Both require the shipper to declare the item being shipped is a firearm.

Cogito, ergo armatus sum. I think, therefore I am armed.
any private store drop location is outside 'chain of command' and the shipper has no control over the parcel prior to pick-up
Let's just say this is a UPS rule, not a federal statute. Read between the lines.
