Took the Savage out finally today. The rifle was "boresighted".... it took a bit to get it zeroed. But I got it. Didn't get to stay out as long as I wanted because it MLK day and everyone that was off work came out to my spot. And I don't like to shoot around crowds. Makes me nervous.
After the zero, I tried the following ammo out.
I was far from impressed. 8 rounds, only 5 fired. And you can see how they did
I emailed the company with my dislike for their ammo. Maybe it's just that lot. I don't know.
Then I pulled out the PMC Bronze 55gr FMJ. This is 12 rounds. The flier is when my glasses were fogged. And there was a bee. And I sneezed. And a coyote was howling. And my eyes were closed.....
All shooting was at 75 yards. I parked too close and didn't want to trek up the hill in the mud for an extra 25 yards to make it an even 100.
I am happy with the gun. Glad I got a bolt. It's relaxing, slows me down and I get to concentrate on something else to get my mind off of work. I'm sure I'll bring the group in a bit next time out. Maybe in two weeks I'll go out again. Beautiful morning, 42 degrees when I was out at sunrise. Great morning.
Side note, I don't know why the pictures turned sideways but you get the idea
