Is this the same pretty much the same as having an AARP card, but free?

    Re: Discounts

If the aarp makes the mistake of sending me a postage paid envelope they are getting back all the junk I can stuff in there. I'll do without before I'll use an aarp discount.

The orginal poster said they do not advertise the discounts that you have to ask for them. Kind of like Ketchup at McDonalds :-)

Okay, it's stickified. Please keep in mind that the list should not be taken as gospel, since companies do change their policies for their own reasons. Contact the store or organization to verify the validity of any discount prior to purchase. Members should post comments if the information given is incorrect or add a listing if a discount or benefit is offered.

That's kind of cruel. How are all you old guys supposed to remember to ask for a discount when you can't even remember why you are at the store you're at in the first place?

Yeah & like we're gonna keep a list of all these places in our wallet! Main place I'm happy with is the 10% we get at the Whataburger that we use. Not all of 'em do it & some give a free drink with a meal, rather than the discount.

When I was working, I drank a lot of "senior coffees" at McDonalds.

Every other Tuesday is Senior's Day at Walgreens. 20% discount on all "Walgreen's" products. Believe me 20 cents on every dollar adds up fast.

I have had gray hair since I was in my late 20's. I remember the first time in my 30's I was offered a senior discount. I didn't know if I should be mad or just take the discount. I took it.

That's why some places require that you ask for it. Saves some problems if they guess wrong.

Dude when you open up canned goods rinse the tops and save them. You can fit quite a few can tops inside a business envelope. Pour in some plain old sand for more weight as well. Beef up the flap with black electrical tape too. That's how I roll.

Doing without is part of life.
