Bersa 380 Thunder Plus SAFETY KEY PIN

Picked up my won on auction Bersa 380 Thunder Plus today.

There is not a "key" for the S or F position of the key safety. Dealer, who was just doing FFL transfer said Bersa would send me one for free due to liability issues?

I do plan to go back to the original seller and then to Bersa is required...any other suggestions?

You can order them from Eagle Imports. I believe that you have to call them to order?...and I know that they will need your serial number. The cost is minimal.

was there mention of the key missing in the auction or any statement absolving the seller of missing parts issues? if not then i'd threaten negative feedback if a key is not provided. if you were bidding on the gun "as is" in the pic and no key is visible then you'll just have to contact bersa or try colorado gun works and see if they have one laying around. ya might get lucky and a member here with multiple bersas will karma one to you.

Hey adjohns3, I'd be happy to send you one...I have several and I do not use any of them. If you're interested send me a PM.

the "key" is basically just a hex screw but you would have to grind down the thickness of the screw head by chucking it in a drill and running it against sandpaper or a grinding stone. It's metric 3mm.

Just give the Eagle Imports office a call. They will send one out to you. Since you never received one with the gun, just tell them that I said it would be ok to send you one for free. No worries there....

I keep my BT 380 Plus on (F) fire all the time. IMO - unless you have kids at home, this is a useless safety feature.

    Regards - Rainman.

Going to follow up on some of your suggestions.
Basic problem is dealer in SC where I won the auction (NEW in box was advertised) he never answered anything after he got my money order. I will post my feedback on him with the auction, for what it's worth.

    THANKS for your suggestions.

Good luck, adjohns3. If you follow the advice of the quote above yours, you should get some pretty good service.........I think BersaSales has some clout at Eagle........;)

Re: Bersa 380 Thunder Plus SAFETY KEY PIN

Hey... I've got two Bersa Thunder .380s and didn't get a safety key thingy or manual with either.
Ordered a couple from Eagle Imports, they've been on B/O for over a month.
We've got kids, and I kinda like the idea of being able to lock out the pistols... Maybe???
Wished I would have found this chat forum before I'd started going wild buying and downloading stuff.

Re: Bersa 380 Thunder Plus SAFETY KEY PIN

Just scored a LNIB Matte Thunder 380 from my favorite Pawn Shop. $200.00 out the door and it came with a key and spent shell dated 091127. Wanted the Matte to go with my wife's Matte 380cc. Life is good and getting better.

Re: Bersa 380 Thunder Plus SAFETY KEY PIN

A lot of people DO have kids. The feature might be useless to you. But not to many, and not to Bersa from a marketing standpoint. And, you have the option of leaving it in the fire position all the time. Your choice.
